Project OverviewRequisition . The Renewables & Clean Power team has signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas‑fired power generation facilities in the U.S. The selected candidate will serve as the Field Superintendent – Earthworks & UG’s for the CCGT project in Pecos, TX, on a long‑term assignment contingent upon project award.
Job SummaryThe Civil Field Superintendent – Earthworks & UG’s provides onsite leadership for civil construction activities primarily focused on the project’s 7HA Single Cycle Gas Turbine Plants. Duties include ensuring safe execution, meeting technical requirements, aligning with schedule and budget, directing craft labor and subcontractors, overseeing daily field operations, and driving workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance. The role collaborates closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls to resolve constructability issues, develop work scopes, enforce design usage, and support automation tools and procedures.
MajorResponsibilities
- Leadership/Supervision (discipline supervision up to 50 craft)
- Supervise and direct craft activities as assigned
- Schedule work and review completion for each craft
- Determine workforce requirements and coordinate area operational plans
- Monitor tool and equipment usage and oversee preparation of field material requisitions
- Ensure current design documents are used and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
- Ensure construction operations and subcontractor performance comply with specifications, schedules, and budgets
- Interpret engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical paperwork
- Oversee engineering solutions with subcontractors, foremen, and craft professionals
- Coordinate with design on constructability issues and oversee development of commodity installation means and methods
- Implement industry and international codes and standards applicable to the work scope
- Utilize applicable automation software and processes
- Work competently in trenches and open excavations and maintain thorough knowledge of earthworks and undergrounds
- Manage craft professional relationships and maintain strong background in craft management
Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant experience, or 12‑14 years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills- Previous experience delivering a power plant or large‑scale plant as Field Superintendent
- Experience interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Ability to oversee engineering solutions with subcontractors and craft professionals
- Coordination with design on constructability issues
- Overseeing preparation of testing processes and required test equipment
- Inspection of installed components for technical acceptance
- Development of commodity installation means and methods
- Understanding of industry and international codes and standards applicable to the work scope
- Proficiency with automation software and processes
- Competence in working in trenches and open excavations
- Strong knowledge of earthworks and undergrounds
- Strong background in craft professional management
