Project Overview
The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early‑stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery this year.
Job SummaryIn this role, you will provide onsite leadership for concreting activities primarily focused on the project’s Single Cycle Gas Turbine Units, ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. The role directs craft labor and subcontractors, oversees daily field operations, and drives workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance. Working closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls, the Civil Superintendent Concrete resolves constructability issues, supports the development of work scopes, and ensures effective use of automation tools and project procedures.
The position plays a central role in maintaining quality, enforcing use of current design documents, and ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution.
- Leadership / Supervision
- Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
- Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Planning / Productivity
- Determines workforce requirements.
- Coordinates established area operational plans.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment
- Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
- Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
- Safety & Quality
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.
- Technical
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant experience or 12‑14 years of relevant work experience.
- Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Previous experience coordinating engineering solutions constructability issues onsite.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
- Understanding of industry / International Codes & Standards applicable to work scope.
- Experience utilizing and leveraging applicable automation software and processes as applicable.
- Demonstrated experience in craft management and understanding of the project (Non Union) labor agreements.
