The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S.
Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year. We're seeking an experienced candidate to be the Field Engineer
- Piping (undergrounds and balance of plant) on the project in Pecos, Texas. You will mobilize on a long-term (camp) assignment to the project in Pecos, TX. This position is contingent upon project award.
In this role, as Field Engineer
- Piping you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-RM1
- Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
- Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
- Initiates requisitions for field purchases
- Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
For Direct Hire
- Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans,
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
- Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the installation of underground and above ground piping including pressure testing of piping systems.
- Experience in the installation of high-pressure steam piping will be highly preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical interface, sequencing, material management, preservation and progress reporting.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Well developed communication skills and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and Quality.
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
- Prior experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) is preferred.
- Experience with Simple Cycle or Combined Cycle facilities is preferred.
