Eco Tal is partnering with an industry-leading developer and operator of next-generation digital infrastructure to identify a Data Center Technician for their growing operations team in Pecos, Texas. Our client builds and operates large-scale, mission-critical data center infrastructure supporting next-generation computing workloads including AI, cloud computing, colocation, and digital assets. Aboutthe Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, technically minded individual looking to build or continue a career within data center operations. The Data Center Technician will support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a large-scale data center facility, working directly with computing, networking, electrical, and mechanical equipment. This individual will be responsible for monitoring equipment, performing basic diagnostics and repairs, supporting preventative maintenance, and helping ensure the facility operates safely and reliably.
The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who is comfortable working in a hands-on environment and eager to develop their technical skills within the rapidly growing data center industry.
- Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of data center infrastructure and equipment.
- Perform basic diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on computing equipment.
- Assist with preventative and routine maintenance throughout the facility.
- Identify equipment issues and support timely resolution to maximize uptime.
- Perform basic hardware and firmware-related troubleshooting.
- Support basic networking tasks and work with IP addressing and subnet concepts.
- Utilize mechanical and electrical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Collect and review basic operational data to help identify equipment performance issues.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
- Support projects and additional operational responsibilities as assigned by site leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3+ years of experience in IT, computer hardware, electrical or mechanical systems, network administration, troubleshooting, or a related technical environment.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking concepts, including IP addressing and subnets.
- Familiarity with small electronics or low- to medium-voltage electrical systems is preferred.
- Previous data center, critical facilities, or digital asset/mining experience is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Dependable, hardworking, and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check.
- Full-time, onsite position in Pecos, Texas.
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 30-50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures, airflow, noise, and other industrial conditions.
- This is a hands-on operational position and may involve working in hot, cold, dusty, or otherwise demanding environments.
