The Deputy Area Superintendent is responsible for supervising and directing craft operations within assigned disciplines or areas. They will supervise and direct craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. They will ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractor performance is in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budget. They will perform general functions inherently in all supervisory field positions.
Major Responsibilities:- Coordinate with various discipline Superintendents, General Foreman, and Foreman to determine equipment requirements
- Schedule work to be performed, supervise in-process activities, and review work when accomplished.
- Prepare equipment maintenance schedules
- Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables
- Supervise and direct subordinate personnel and craft in equipment support activities within various disciplines
- Prepare craft requisitions and forecasts, job manpower forecasts and expenditure forecast.
- Develop and work plans and activities
- Implement procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget
- Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned discipline operations
- Coordinate field activities with other disciplines
- Ensure that all State and Federal safety codes, requirements, and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university (or international equivalent), plus a minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience; or 12+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills:

- Installation of Light Duty Gas Turbines
Required Knowledge and
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in field supervision on direct hire work.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction engineering practices related to all disciplines.
- Demonstrated planning and scheduling, procurement, and contracting experience.
- Maintain, promote and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
- Extensive experience in civil construction of large projects.
- Sound understanding of performance management processes.
- Advanced understanding of production management including scheduling.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Advanced knowledge of cost management includes estimating and forecast development.
