The rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team has signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early‑stage development that will lead to the start of full EPC delivery next year.

Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions.

• Responsible for field construction operations within the site welding discipline.
• Determine workforce requirements and coordinate established area operational plans.
• Schedule work, review work accomplished by each craft, monitor work activities, and ensure the quality of work performed.
• Ensure the most current design documents are used and all design changes are approved prior to implementation, and approve craft time records using established automated tools.
• Prepare reports and forecasts, including summaries of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditure forecasts.
• Monitor tool usage on the site and prepare Field Material Requisition s for tools and consumables to ensure crews have the necessary equipment.
• Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Implement corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations and coordinate activities with other disciplines, client resident representatives, and construction management.
• Conduct employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with Bechtel and local/national safety codes, requirements, and standards, and apply the Zero Accident Philosophy at all times.
• Participate in scheduled safety meetings and implement Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision‑making in the execution of duties.

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.

• Welding Superintendent:
  Minimum 10–12 years industry experience in welding and welding supervision, with at least 3 years Bechtel experience; knowledge of supervisory functions related to field welding activities.
• Lead Welding Superintendent:
  Minimum 10–12 years industry experience in welding and welding supervision, with at least 5 years Bechtel experience; knowledge of supervisory functions related to field welding activities.

• Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and environment within the craft and professional staff.
• Knowledge and experience with multiple welding methods and direct hire construction.
• Knowledge of supervisory functions related to field welding activities.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Navisworks, document management system/Aconex, Unifier, and quantity reporting software/Teamworks.
• Well‑developed communication and problem‑solving ability.
• Experience in implementing and utilizing Bechtel Standard Work Process Procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost, scheduling, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) and a Zero Incident safety program.
• Familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
