Plains is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician I to support safe, reliable operation of pipeline and terminal assets. In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems including motors, MCCs, PLCs, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, loop checks, and start up support while following strict safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
The technician will document work, interpret drawings, support projects and upgrades, and collaborate closely with operations and engineering teams in a performance-driven, safety first culture.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems for pipeline and terminal assets
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with motors, MCCs, PLCs, transmitters, analyzers, and control valves
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and calibrations
- Interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams
- Support system start ups, shutdowns, and project commissioning activities
- Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment history accurately
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to optimize reliability and performance
- Participate in on call support and respond to equipment or system upsets
- Identify and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and safety
Required Skills
- Electrical troubleshooting
