We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support clinical operations, staff performance, and regulatory compliance while helping drive excellent patient outcomes.
Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and facility leadership to oversee nursing services, ensure high-quality care delivery, support survey readiness, and strengthen clinical systems. This role is ideal for a proactive nurse leader who enjoys coaching teams, improving processes, and maintaining strong clinical standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the DON in managing daily clinical operations and nursing services
Assist with staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and training of nursing staff
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, policies, and best practices
Promote survey readiness through routine audits, staff education, and corrective action plans
Oversee clinical documentation practices and ensure accurate, timely charting
Help monitor quality measures including falls, wounds, infections, and readmissions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care and care planning
Provide leadership coverage and support to nursing supervisors and floor staff
Respond to resident/family concerns and ensure a high level of customer service
Participate in QAPI initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Required:
Active RN license (in good standing)
Minimum 2–4 years of leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
Strong working knowledge of SNF regulations, infection control, and clinical best practices
Experience supervising nursing teams and managing clinical workflow
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Preferred:
Prior ADON experience
Survey preparation and plan-of-correction experience
Familiarity with MDS process and interdisciplinary care planning
