** Maintenance Manager:*
* The Foundry & Machine Shop Technician is responsible for supporting the production of non-ferrous aluminum castings and performing machining operations to meet quality and production standards. This role involves operating foundry equipment, preparing molds, pouring molten aluminum, and machining cast parts using manual and CNC equipment. The technician ensures that all parts meet engineering specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Prepare molds, cores, and patterns for aluminum casting operations.

+ Melt, handle, and pour non-ferrous aluminum alloys using furnaces and ladles.

+ Operate and maintain foundry equipment such as furnaces, crucibles, and molding machines.

+ Perform machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, and turning on manual or CNC machines.

+ Inspect castings and machined components for defects, dimensional accuracy, and quality compliance.

+ Conduct basic finishing processes such as grinding, deburring, and surface preparation.

+ Monitor furnace temperatures and maintain proper alloy composition.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.

+ Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

+ Follow all safety protocols related to molten metal handling, machinery operation, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

+ Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of foundry and machining equipment.

+ Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to improve production efficiency and product quality.

** Required Qualifications*
* + High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).

+ Experience in non-ferrous metal casting, aluminum foundry operations, or machine shop work preferred.

+ Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

+ Knowledge of machining processes and basic metalworking techniques.

+ Ability to operate forklifts, hoists, and lifting equipment (or willingness to obtain certification).

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

+ Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.

** Physical Requirements*
* + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Ability to stand for extended periods and work in high-temperature environments.

+ Manual dexterity for operating machinery and measuring tools.

+ Must wear required PPE including heat-resistant gear, gloves, eye protection, and steel-toe boots.

** Work Environment*
* + Industrial foundry and machine shop environment.

+ Exposure to heat, noise, metal dust, and machinery.

+ Safety training and PPE provided.

** Preferred Skills*
* +

Experience with CNC machining equipment.

+ Knowledge of aluminum alloy properties and casting methods (sand casting, permanent mold, or die casting).

+ Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

+ Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
