The Division of Mental Health is seeking a Clinical Psychologist to conduct complex placement evaluations of forensic cases referred from courts under Unfit to Stand Trial (UST) and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) statutes and evaluate DHS inpatients referred for maximum security placement. The role includes arranging inpatient and outpatient treatment of adult and juvenile cases, preparing forensic reports, and providing recommendations to the Metro Forensic Services Director.
EssentialFunctions
- Conduct complex placement evaluations of forensic cases referred from courts under UST and NGRI statutes.
- Evaluate DHS inpatients referred for maximum security placement.
- Arrange inpatient and outpatient treatment for adult and juvenile cases.
- Meet with the Director of Metro Forensic Services to provide written and verbal recommendations on placement evaluations conducted in jails, detention centers, and correctional facilities.
- Prepare and submit forensic reports, documents, and correspondence relevant to placement evaluations and patient monitoring and tracking.
- Provide information to judges and attorneys regarding forensic case referral procedures.
- Conduct forensic evaluations addressing fitness, risk assessment, diagnosis, mental status, and intellectual functioning to assist in placement and treatment decisions.
- Assist with planning and implementation of forensic training and educational events.
- Provide forensic outpatient fitness restoration services, including fitness education and preparing fitness evaluation reports for courts.
- Perform other duties as reasonably required within scope of duties listed above.
- Travel as required.
- Utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Pass IDHS background check.
- Pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm; 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Minimum Qualifications- Current license as a Clinical Psychologist issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
