Terms of Employment- $25.00 per hour (varies per day, but no less than 4 hours paid time)

High school diploma or equivalent, must be 21 years of age, have or have the ability to maintain a CDL with school bus permit and pass an extensive background check, pre-employment physical and drug test and random drug and alcohol testing. On the job training provided – no experience necessary. Ability to meet the requirements of the State of Illinois School Bus Permit annually.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
The criterion indicated below are intended to describe various types of work that may be performed. The exclusion of specific responsibilities does not prohibit them if the work is similar, related, or a logical task of the position.
- Operates school bus on a predetermined route and schedule in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with time schedules.
- Maintain order and discipline among students on the bus following school district regulations.
- Performs daily inspections and maintains vehicle maintenance, mileage, trip and student reports.
- Prepare student conduct and incident reports and accident reports.
- Operates hydraulic lift.
- Assists in the loading and unloading of disabled students as necessary.
- Monitors vehicle and equipment operation and reports malfunctions and repair needs.
- Fuel and clean exterior and interior of buses including, but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floor, wiping upholstery, picking up debris and general cleaning daily.
- Utilize two-way radio for bus-to-bus, bus-to-school and bus-to-base communications.
- Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required.
- Observe applicable local, state and federal policies, procedures, guidelines and laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to pass extensive school bus physical on an annual basis per State of Illinois regulations.
