Accounting Specialist

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (in a professional services, engineering, surveying, construction, or consulting environment)
• Experience with Deltek accounting and billing modules (VERY important)
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

• Experience working for an engineering, land surveying, architecture, environmental, or other professional services firm.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint specifically
• Familiarity with project accounting, time and expense billing, and utilization of project management/accounting software.
• Experience assisting with month-end close and financial reconciliations.

• Prepare, process, and distribute client invoices in accordance with project and company requirements.
• Review invoices for accuracy, proper project coding, billing information, and supporting documentation.
• Process and pay company vendor invoices and ensure payments are made accurately and on schedule.
• Assist the Controller with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Assist with reconciling vendor invoices, customer accounts, bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial records.
• Review account activity and investigate discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Assist with monthly accounting close and related reporting activities.
• Enter and update accounting information in Deltek Vantagepoint

• Assist project managers and other staff with billing and accounting-related questions.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and assist with collections and follow-up as needed.
