Construction Inspector

Talascend is currently seeking a Construction Inspector for a contract opportunity with our client in Theodore, Alabama.

The role involves conducting inspections of construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards, and maintaining quality assurance throughout the project.

• Conduct daily and periodic inspections of all construction activities associated with the API
  650 inner bell replacement.
• Verify that materials, workmanship, weld quality, coatings, and installation activities meet project quality standards.
• Maintain detailed field inspection records including photographs, daily logs, and verification reports.
• Work with contractor supervision and Owner stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractor representatives to provide updates on inspection findings.
• Enforce site safety practices and report safety violations.

• 8+ years of experience in industrial construction inspection or construction management.

• Hands-on field QA/QC experience: weld fit-up/visuals, RT/PT witnessing, coatings QA.
• Working knowledge of API
  650, ISO weld acceptance criteria, and OSHA construction safety requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and field decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 for reporting and documentation.

• API
  650 or floating bell experience, ASNT LII (UT/RT/MT/PT), AMPP/NACE LII/III, CWI/API
  653, OSHA
  30, rigging/signal person credentials, bilingual (English/Spanish).

Shift-100% onsite in Theodore, AL
