POSITIONOBJECTIVE
The Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of all equipment and facilities s role serves as the site’s primary equipment expert, providing hands-on engineering leadership and advanced troubleshooting across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
A core responsibility is overseeing the maintenance function, including direct leadership of the maintenance team and ownership of preventive and predictive maintenance activities. The Plant Engineer is expected to drive equipment uptime through disciplined maintenance planning, root-cause problem solving, and close coordination with production leadership.
The role also provides facilities oversight, ensuring plant infrastructure supports current operations and planned expansion efforts. In addition, the Plant Engineer owns a defined set of quality and compliance responsibilities related to equipment, certifications, inspections, and documentation. This is a highly visible, floor-focused role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to lead through influence and accountability.
POSITIONKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the onsite process expert, optimizing machine processes for efficiency and quality.
- Oversee maintenance of all production equipment and schedule planned outages.
- Manage capital projects from concept to commissioning.
- Analyze quality metrics to resolve production issues and maintain standards.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, and tooling challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with management and sales to identify and implement investment opportunities.
- Foster collaboration across teams to maintain a positive, efficient work environment.
- Maintain documentation for quality systems, audits, and production metrics.
- Ensure plant operations meet all company safety requirements
- Assist plant leadership in company initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or related Engineering field
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD (3D and CNC programming experience is a plus).
- Experience with PLC programming tools (e.g., Allen-Bradley RSLogix) is a strong advantage.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement environments.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and material specifications.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CMMS software is a plus.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA) and workplace safety practices.
- Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset with a positive and adaptable attitude.
