Position

Summary

The mission of the Environmental Scientist is to perform a variety of environmental services, provide environmental assessments, reports, and evaluations for environmental projects.

The essential functions of the Environmental Scientist are to:

Client Perspective

This perspective focuses on the individual's relationships with clients. It includes metrics such as client satisfaction with your services, personal satisfaction with your relationships, and retention rates of your relationships. Aligning with our core values of RELATIONSHIPS and ADVOCACY to guide and protect our clients.

  • Prepare scope and fee proposals for new project opportunities and review with client to gain approval.
  • Maintain communication with the client during project.
  • Maintain client satisfaction through project follow‑up after project completion.
  • Seek potential supplementary consulting services with existing clients.
  • Consult with the regulatory agencies in the review of detailed plans, specifications and estimate of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
  • Understand environmental regulations and advise clients.
  • Prepare environmental qualification statements for clients.
  • Serve as a business leader in development of projects for clients.
  • Serve as the Project Manager on existing and new projects, all phases of the project.
  • Oversee the development and selection of new projects and project teams.
  • Internal Business Process Perspective

    This perspective focuses on the internal business processes that drive the practice or department performance. It includes items such as technical expertise, teamwork, engagement, and impact on group culture.   • Oversee the compliance of environmental projects.
  • Prepare basic environmental reports.
  • Provide support in department protocols, guidelines, and standards with regards to environmental reports.
  • Perform field work in compliance with company safety policies.
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This perspective focuses on the individual's impact on financial goals and objectives. It includes metrics such as utilization, margin, and expenses. Aligning with our core values of GROWTH and ACCOUNTABILITY as we work together and count on each other.

  • Prepare project deliverables according to the planned direct labor and expense budgets outlined by the Project Manager or Practice Leader.
  • Review detailed plans, specifications, and estimates of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
  • Be cognizant of task budgets and schedules within project requirements.
  • Track project expenses for project field supplies and reimbursables.
  • Efficiently manage time towards completion of assignments within schedule and budget.
  • Successfully achieve the financial goals set forth for your position (quality work within project budgets, direct labor hours, etc.).
