Sr. Accountant

Description

Our client in Pelham, AL is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to support their financial accuracy and compliance. If you're passionate about numbers and looking to grow your career, we want to hear from you!

Primary Responsibilities:

Accurately enter and manage day-to-day financial transactions, including payables and receivables

Perform routine reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial statements

Generate and distribute invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and follow up on collections

Administer payroll processing and maintain precise payroll documentation

Oversee and update the general ledger along with all supporting financial records

Compile and prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Partner in the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow monitoring

Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files and documentation

Assist in strengthening internal controls and improving accounting procedures

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline

3-5 years of hands-on accounting experience with increasing responsibility

Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements

Background in payroll administration and related tax compliance

Experience working with accounting software systems (Quick Books or comparable platforms)

Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Effective organizational and time management abilities

Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive financial information with confidentiality
