Director of Accounting

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a Director of Accounting to lead and strengthen the accounting function during an exciting period of growth and operational expansion. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to drive process improvements, build scalable infrastructure, and support strategic business initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in manufacturing accounting, operational finance, and team leadership, along with the ability to operate in a hands on, fast paced environment.

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, consolidations, and financial statement preparation
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while helping build scalable processes and controls
• Partner cross functionally with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to support business performance and decision making
• Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, cost analysis, and manufacturing variance reporting
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and maintain strong internal controls across accounting operations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and operational analysis initiatives
• Coordinate external audits, tax support, and relationships with outside advisors
• Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives across the finance and accounting function
• Assist with ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, and special projects tied to growth initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Prior experience within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments required
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and operational finance concepts
• Experience leading month end close and financial reporting functions within complex environments
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate effectively in a fast paced setting
• ERP system experience required; experience with larger ERP platforms preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across both finance and operations
