Ballantrae Golf Club is perfectly situated only 5-minutes east of I-65 in the friendly City of Pelham, Alabama, just south of Birmingham. Essential Responsibilities Description

Manage the daily operations of the Golf Operations Department including supervising full-time and part-time staff, managing department facility, rentals and reservations, special events, overseeing memberships, billing and the software used to manage department operations. Manges golf shop inventory and golf cart fleet.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual may be on call and fill in for other employees as needed and be on call and respond to alarm calls 7 days a week/24 hour a day.

Education

/ Experience

Bachelor's degree in applicable field plus three years of applicable experience; or seven years related experience and/or training in a management role or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses

Must obtain CMAA (Club Managers Association of American) certification within the first two years of employment and then maintain current status with that certification.

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, the individual should be proficient in relevant technology and software applications required for the position. Experience with recreation and facility based software is preferred.

Supplemental Information Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises a number of full-time and part-time employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
