Sales Representative, Business Development, Inside Sales
Join our Mayer Team in Pelham, AL, as a Residential Lighting Sales Specialist and help customers bring their lighting projects to life. You’ll advise homeowners, designers, architects, and contractors on product selection and solutions, nurture relationships, and turn leads into satisfied customers. We’re looking for someone with solid product knowledge, outstanding customer service, and a history of hitting sales goals in busy retail or field settings.
You should be comfortable cold calling and representing the Mayer Lighting Showroom at industry events and community activities.
The Lighting Showroom Sales is responsible for successfully promoting and selling residential and small commercial lighting products, as well as connected home lighting solutions.
What You ll Do:- Greet customers upon entering the lighting showroom
- Create quotes for customers, ensuring an acceptable gross margin level
- Follow-up with customers to secure order
- Convert quotes to orders within customer expectations
- Enter and bill orders in a timely manner
- Monitor and cancel unsuccessful quotes
- Proactively expedite order
- Establish and communicate material promise dates
- Coordinate with customer and internal resources regarding shipments/delivery
- Review customer pricing regularly for accuracy
- Issue return tickets
- Participate in key supplier promotions from sales and marketing
- Keep customer contacts up to date
- Actively participate in and contribute to the company s Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
- May participate in or assist with physical inventory preparation or process
- Other duties as assigned
- 1+ years of sales experience
- High School or GED
- Required - 4 Year / Bachelor s Degree
- Preferred - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and a self-starter
- Sense of urgency, with excellent sales and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively
- Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and ERP systems
