As an Installer IV

• Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
• Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
• Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and accurate equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
• Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers  location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities
• Have familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment
• Have the ability to utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
• Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site
• Act in a supervisory manner and provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools
• Have familiarity with Customer installation and quality standards including IP72202
• Provide for self-quality check of all portions of job responsible for prior to sign off
• Assemble, modify and install overhead ironwork, relay racks, transmission equipment and cable ladder
• Run power, signal, and ground cables to interconnect equipment
• Stencil installed equipment and terminations
• Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers
• Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested
• Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly;
  Assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area
• Dress appropriately for the job environment
• Must be proficient in all phases of installation and testing of equipment to provide for progression in the business
• Review installation specifications

• High School diploma or GED and Electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school or equivalent as determined by Installation Manager
• You have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer
• You respond promptly to customer needs; solicit customer feedback to improve partnership
• You have the ability to use Microsoft Word, and Excel and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses
• You have the ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs)
• You are proficient in customer specifications and standards
• You possess excellent communication skills—speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; demonstrates group presentation skills
• You have excellent time management; organizational skills; plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans
• You are dependable – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; keeps commitments
