Automation Technician

The Automation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Pelham, AL. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining automation equipment and control systems used across various industrial applications. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, performing scheduled and preventive maintenance on automated systems, and supporting robotics and electrical components to ensure reliable operation. The Automation Technician collaborates with engineering and operations teams to support system upgrades, implement improvements, and help ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

The role also requires accurate documentation of work performed, clear communication with internal stakeholders, and occasional support during commissioning or project implementation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Wire, assemble, and test control panels based on design specs.
• Ensure all panels meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Read and interpret electromechanical drawings for accurate assembly.
• Use hand tools and power tools (e.g., cordless drills) for fabrication and installation.
• Perform diagnostics with multimeters and testing devices.
• Troubleshoot and understand PLC logic and wireless telemetry systems.
• Assist with shipments in and out, including preparing packing slips and labels.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of panel-building or electrical experience.
• Education: Associate’s degree in an electrical field preferred.
