Truck Driver CDL A Solo

Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Pelham, Alabama. This position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Rate: $24.32 per hour
• Per Diem: $28.06 when traveling away from home
• Mileage reimbursement when traveling away from home
• Hotel provided when traveling away from home
• Up to $2200 in annual bonuses

• 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1

• Deliver solo to home daily and home weekly
• Operate day cab tractor (manual transmission required)
• Drive flatbed trailer (preferred but will train)
• Use mounted forklift (highly preferred but will train)
• Load securement, strapping brick
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
• Detect and eliminate safety hazards and maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (including verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures
• C‑verified experience driving a 36‑month or newer truck (Trucks are 36 months or newer, includes 24/7 roadside maintenance)
• MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE MANUAL
