Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Pelham, Alabama. Offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.
Pay Overview- Hourly rate $24.32 per hour.
- Average weekly earnings $1800.
- Per diem $28.06 when traveling away from home.
- Weekly pay.
- Up to $2200 in annual bonuses.
- Mileage reimbursement and hotel provided when traveling.
- Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days.
- 80 hours PTO first year (use it or get paid).
- Uniforms & boot allowance provided.
- 401(k) rollover available now with company match at 1 year.
- 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility).

- Monday – Friday.
- Start time 5:00‑7:00 AM dispatch.
- Travel may start Sunday when away from home.
- Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance, and company drivers fuel the trucks at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.
- Tractor type:
Day Cab (must drive manual). - Trailer type:
Flatbed (preferred, but will train). - Mounted forklift experience highly preferred but will train.
- Load securement: strapping brick.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards and guidelines.
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs.
- Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading as required by customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
