Role
One of our clients is hiring an Equipment Operator to operate heavy machinery, assist on project sites, and support overall plant and yard operations. This role provides an opportunity to grow within a unionized environment while contributing to North America’s infrastructure projects.
About the RoleThe Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating multiple pieces of dirt work equipment, performing routine maintenance and inspections, assisting crews on job sites, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment including Dozer, Track Loader, Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor, and Backhoe
- Assist crew in daily operations at assigned job sites
- Maintain plant and yard appearance through general housekeeping
- Perform pre-shift inspections and routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment (lubricating, fueling, cleaning)
- Conduct emergency and routine repairs on plant equipment and structures
- Follow all safety, compliance, and environmental requirements
- Identify and address unsafe practices; promote a culture of safety
- Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations
- Minimum 1 year experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and sense of balance
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company health, safety, and environmental policies
- Willingness to follow union and company procedures and standards
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators where required
- Subject to applicable law, employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face
