Journeyman Line Worker
Lake Region Electric Cooperative (LREC) is seeking Journeyman Line Workers to join our team in Pelican Rapids, MN as a result of internal transitions. If you’re an experienced line worker looking for strong benefits, stability, and a great place to live and work — this is your opportunity.

- Construct and maintain overhead and underground distribution systems
- Perform energized (hot line) work
- Set poles, frame, and string 1-, 2-, and 3-phase lines
- Troubleshoot outages and restore power safely and efficiently
- Operate line equipment (bucket trucks, digger trucks, etc.)
- Perform system maintenance including tree trimming and lighting
- Respond to emergency and after-hours calls
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to 6+ years in electric utility line work; completion of a recognized line worker apprenticeship program and experience in electric distribution systems required
- Journeyman Line Worker certification required
- Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliable service
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening
- Position primarily operates during standard business hours (Mon – Fri 7:30a – 4p). Regularly requires work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, particularly during outages and emergency events.
- Position is required to be available to respond within 30min during a scheduled weekly on-call rotation, on average, every 6 weeks. Must live within 20min of the Pelican Rapids facility.
LREC offers a generous compensation package including fully paid single coverage health insurance premium, company 401k match and substantial paid time off, including front loading accrual. This position’s starting union wage range is $48.00 – $50.00/hr with a training progression period and wage adjustments to conclude over 2 years. Job offer rates are determined based on the candidate’s specific education, experience, knowledge, skills, and in alignment with market data.
