Responsibilities
  • Responsible for safely operating resin manufacturing and processing equipment to produce quality resins used in paint products. Work under the direction of Resin Leads and the Resin Manager.
  • Follow all safety, environmental and regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines. Use all required safety equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintain raw material inventory by transferring materials from the warehouse or bulk storage tanks to the Resin process area.
  • Process all resins in a properly cleaned reactor. Follow batch instructions and standard operating procedures for adding raw material ingredients to process resins, latex emulsions, and related polymers. Procedures include opening/closing valves, checking gauges, starting/stopping pumps, agitators, fans, and blowers; determine heat/cooling requirements; perform quality checks for proper formula specifications.
  • Monitor batch process by taking data readings using electronic information systems and collect batch samples for quality control testing in accordance with guidelines and standard test methods.
  • Record data as prescribed. Adjust batch quality as necessary. Calibrate, adjust and monitor lab testing equipment per guidelines.
  • After production batch is completed and quality approved, properly filter and transfer material to storage tanks.
  • Clean the reactor as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S and facility housekeeping requirements (painting, floor maintenance, relocation of equipment/materials, cleanup of hardened resin and related materials, etc.).
  • Adhere to safety, environmental and regulatory guidelines; ensure required safety equipment is available and used. Address safety issues promptly and coach the team on safety expectations.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School degree required.
  • Prior working experience and knowledge in chemical manufacturing.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs several times during a 12-hour shift; ability to climb ladders as needed.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts 3-4 days per week and overtime as needed.
  • Forklift experience strongly preferred.
  • Competency with computerized systems such as MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and SAP.
  • Physical requirements:

    frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting; occasional lifting 10-75 lbs.; ability to wear PPE including eye protection, safety shoes, and full-face respirator.
  • Job Type: Hourly, non-exempt.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: USD $24.00 – USD $31.80 per hour.

Compensation Philosophy and benefits include: annual performance-based raises and bonuses, benefits such as Medical/Dental/Vision, 401(k) match, PTO starting at 3 weeks plus holidays and personal days, employer-paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other programs described by the company.
