The RN Unit Manager is responsible for the leadership, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of nursing services on an assigned skilled nursing unit. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, facility policies, and professional nursing standards.
The RN Unit Manager serves as a key member of the clinical leadership team, promoting positive resident outcomes, staff development, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the daily nursing operations of an assigned unit.
- Ensure residents receive quality care that meets individual needs and care plan objectives.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff.
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure appropriate follow-up and interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Participate in care planning, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Promote a positive, team-oriented environment focused on resident satisfaction and exceptional care.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program or approved Registered Nurse (RN) program.
- Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Strong clinical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise and motivate nursing staff while maintaining high standards of resident care.
Preferred
- Previous Unit Manager or nursing leadership experience.
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or geriatric healthcare settings.
