DEPARTMENT: Public Transportation STATUS: Part Time PAY GRADE: 05

STARTING HOURLY SALARY RANGE: $17.07

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday;
Hours of Operation 6am-6pm;
Times vary as needed /Up to 58 hours bi-weekly

JOB SUMMARY: Drivers will be expected to do the following: safely and efficiently operate St. Clair County’s handicapped accessible bus/van equipment; safely and efficiently transport passengers to designated locations along assigned route; read and comprehend written instructions and complete route manifests and rider logs; fuel, inspect and clean vehicles used for the transportation program. Assist riders in and out of vehicle and secure wheelchairs;

collect bus fare and receipt passengers.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must be 21 years of age with a current driver's license and must pass a pre‑employment drug screen. This is a safety sensitive position. Drivers are subject to random quarterly drug and alcohol tests. Drivers are required to attend 1‑2 training sessions per year through ALTRANS/ALDOT.
