Pella Corporation is seeking motivated accounting professionals to join our Corporate Accounting team in Pella, Iowa.

This role is a great opportunity for current students nearing graduation, recent graduates, and early-career accounting professionals looking to build experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting. Working alongside experienced accounting and finance professionals, you'll contribute to financial processes that support business decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

As an Accountant, you will support Pella's accounting and financial reporting processes while partnering with manufacturing locations, sales subsidiaries, acquired businesses, and corporate functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts within financial systems
  • Prepare and post journal entries and system-generated transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with established close timelines
  • Analyze financial variances and provide insights to management
  • Support business partners with accounting guidance, financial analysis, and recommendations
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
  • Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Serve as a resource to team members regarding accounting transactions, best practices, and financial processes
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Perform accounting research and determine appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit work papers
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Help maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting procedures
  • Partner with team members to support business improvement initiatives
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, and related accounting activities
  • Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Expected graduation date between December 2026 and Summer 2027 preferred; recent graduates with up to three years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and leadership through coursework, student organizations, work experience, athletics, volunteer activities, or other experiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Demonstrated sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to independently solve problems while handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Ability and willingness to learn new accounting systems and technologies
  • CPA or CMA certification (or progress toward certification) preferred

Preferred Experience

Experience or exposure to the following technologies is a plus:

  • Oracle
  • Hyperion (HFM and Essbase)
  • One Stream
  • Anaplan

  • May require occasional travel depending on assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to work effectively with business partners across the organization

Compensation
:
The starting salary for this position is $63,700
annually. Compensation for this role is established through Pella Corporation’s college recruiting program. Eligible participants may receive transition assistance in accordance with company policies and program guidelines. Benefits are available in accordance with the terms of applicable benefit plans.
