Job SummaryAre you someone who thrives on solving complex electrical challenges and enjoys working with cutting-edge technology? In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of electrical systems for Vermeer’s advanced industrial equipment, ranging from agricultural and construction machinery to utility and environmental solutions. Your work will directly support our mission to deliver innovative, reliable solutions that move the world forward.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Support the design and integration of control systems and vehicle electronics using foundational electrical engineering principles.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Zuken E3 or AutoCAD.
- Assist in the implementation and troubleshooting of Controller Area Network (CAN) systems, including Society of Automtive Engineers (SAE) J1939 protocols and physical layer design.
- Conduct diagnostics and testing of electrical systems using tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition software (e.g., Dewesoft, MATLAB, nCode).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and ensure system reliability.
- Contribute to design tracking and collaboration through product lifecycle management (PLM) systems such as Dassault Systems 3DX or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Agricultural Engineering (or related discipline), or equivalent education and experience.
- Foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles, especially in control systems and vehicle electronics.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., Zuken E3 or AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with CAN protocols (e.g., SAE J1939) and physical layer aspects such as signal integrity, termination, and wiring.
- Basic experience with data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., Dewesoft, MATLAB, nCode).
- Exposure to functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262 or IEC 61508) and understanding of safety lifecycle principles.
- Knowledge of PLM and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) systems like Dassault Systems 3DX or equivalent.
- Demonstrated willingness to perform hands-on troubleshooting, testing, and analysis on physical equipment in lab or field environments.
- Occasional travel is expected of this position.
