PPI, a worldwide industry leader in conveying components, is seeking a Corporate Safety & Environmental Manager to join their team in the Pella, IA area.
If you have at least 7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment and a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a closely related field, PPI wants to hear from you! Must be able to travel 25% – 50%.

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and EPA regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing environmental permits and compliance programs at the facility level.
- Proficiency with EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Safety Program Leadership:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve the company-wide safety management system in alignment with OSHA standards and VPP principles.
- Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies (RCFA, 5-Why, fault tree); develop and track corrective action plans to closure.
- Conduct and oversee job hazard analyses, process safety reviews, and facility-wide safety audits.
- Manage critical safety programs including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, machine guarding, fall protection, and electrical safety.
- Maintain and report all OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact for OSHA inspections, responding to citations and coordinating abatement activities.
- Oversee all environmental permits, registrations, and regulatory filings with the EPA and Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).
- Manage air quality compliance programs including Title V or minor source permits, emission calculations, and annual reporting.
- Administer hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs including manifest tracking, storage area management, and disposal vendor oversight.
- Maintain stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and ensure NPDES permit compliance.
- Prepare and submit all chemical inventory reports, filings, and other right-to-know reporting obligations.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all employee levels, including new hire orientation, annual refresher training, and supervisor-specific content.
- Manage workers’ compensation program on all claim management and return-to-work programs.
