Vermeer Parts Management Specialist
Are you the type of person who enjoys looking at parts and pieces, the details regarding their makeup, and their specifications? Do you get satisfaction from keeping things nice and tidy? In this role you will be responsible for supporting Vermeer's product development teams by keeping the parts and part data used on Vermeer products organized within the Product Lifecycle System (PLM) platform.
Your efforts will drive Vermeer part reuse strategy. You will be an integral piece of the part approval process. We are looking for an individual who enjoys the details, who revels in well-organized data and the inherent efficiency that comes from it. The successful individual will understand and thrive on the satisfaction of providing a valuable service to the product development teams.
What You'll Do
- Participate in implementing a parts management strategy within Vermeer's PLM environment.
- Drive and enforce part naming and description standards, serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding part naming, revisioning, classifications, and attributes.
- Define, maintain, support, improve, and participate in the new and alternate part request and approval processes.
- Conduct CAD model optimization and set up for library parts.
- Participate in efforts to consolidate part numbers and increase part reuse.
- Collaborate with and support engineers during component selection.
- Work with and support other groups requiring specialized part libraries.
- Collaborate with procurement regarding sourcing and vendor selections.
- Promote user adoption and user experience of the PLM platform through training, consultation, and support of existing functionality.
- Participate in platform system testing and evaluation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of Associate Degree in engineering technology or equivalent industry experience with a minimum of three years experience working in an engineering environment.
- Experience with mechanical CAD tools (Solid Works preferred).
- Experience in engineering, product development, document, or process management.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret data sheets, technical journals, and manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and training to user groups, and/or company employees.
- Experience working with PLM systems preferred.
Travel
Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
