Chief Financial Officer (CFO) — Independent Hospital System | Iowa
We’re partnering with a mission‑driven, community‑anchored hospital system to hire its next Chief Financial Officer. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced healthcare finance leader who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, building strong teams, and shaping enterprise‑wide strategy in a close‑knit, patient‑first environment.

- System‑wide impact: Lead financial strategy, planning, budgeting, revenue cycle, reimbursement, treasury, and performance improvement across hospitals and ambulatory sites.
- Operational partnership: Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with clinical and operational leaders to enhance margin, modernize service lines, and support smart growth.
- Board visibility: Serve as a key advisor to the CEO and Board, bringing clarity, data, and discipline to strategic decisions.
- Own enterprise financial strategy & planning (multi‑year, capital, and operating).
- Lead revenue cycle excellence (patient access, coding, billing, collections, denials).
- Drive cost transformation, productivity, and service‑line profitability.
- Oversee capital planning & treasury, including debt and cash management.
- Develop a high‑performing finance organization—talent, tools, and culture.
- Ensure regulatory & audit readiness, internal controls, and financial reporting quality.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in provider‑side healthcare finance (hospital or health system).
- Proven success leading revenue cycle and operational finance in rural/community settings or multi‑site environments.
- Fluent in reimbursement (Medicare/Medicaid), payer mix dynamics, and value‑based trends.
- Track record of capital allocation, business case development, and board‑level communication.
- Relationship‑builder with a hands‑on, service‑oriented leadership style.
- Managed care contracting and payor negotiation experience.
- Bachelor’s required;
Masters degree and CPA preferred.
- On‑site in Iowa with reasonable travel across system sites.
- Relocation support available for the right candidate.
