JOB SUMMARY:
The clinical systems analyst provides clinical systems implementation and support to the facility. Clinical systems include (but are not limited to): lab, radiology, pharmacy, order communications, nursing care, and physician access applications. He/she assists in the integration of clinical systems within the facility, including the research of new systems and their implementation. The clinical systems analyst works with the other information systems analysts to integrate clinical systems with financial and other internal systems in the facility.
He/she will provide clinical systems training and act as the end-users’ first line of support once new systems are installed.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a nursing degree. 2-year degree may be substituted if in combination with 4 or more years of progressively more advanced experience. Further experience in the field may be substituted for a formal degree.
- 3 or more years of experience in positions relating to clinical software implementation or healthcare.
- Experience in training of personnel is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Firm understanding of computer applications.
- Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team.
- Advanced computer skills with computer application implementation skills.
- Technical and problem solving skills related to computerized processes.
- Knowledge of patient care environment required.
- Prior knowledge of Meditech preferred.
