PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of production processes. Working closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams, this role provides day-to-day manufacturing support while leading initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance. The Manufacturing Engineer also supports new product introductions, capital projects, and process standardization efforts to ensure sustainable manufacturing excellence and alignment with Precision's strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing support by troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Analyze production performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and process reliability.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, workstations, layouts, and equipment improvements to support manufacturing operations.
  • Manage manufacturing engineering and capital projects from concept through implementation, including process validation, startup, and performance verification.
  • Support new product introductions through process development, production readiness activities, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize manufacturing processes, work instructions, visual controls, and mistake proofing solutions.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership teams to resolve issues and drive operational improvements.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills with the ability to implement practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, continuous improvement principles, and production support activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and engineering projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools, including CAD applications.
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more related areas: manufacturing, industrial, quality, or process engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience with process development, tooling design, fixturing, and workstation layout.
  • 2+ years of experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Draft Sight.
