Occupational Health Nurse- 2nd shift

Occupational Health Nurse (LPN, RN, or BSN) – 2nd shift – Pella, IA

Provides nursing assessment, intervention, and evaluation for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries. Manages ongoing care of team members, conducts required screens/testing, and provides preventative care and resource support for medical-related needs.

  Monday through Thursday – 3pm to 1am

• Maintain nursing certifications and license.
• Manage direct care of work-related and non-work-related injured or ill team members.
• Provide case management of Workers' Compensation claims and support for Workers' Compensation hearings as needed.
• Conduct hearing tests and manage follow-up care.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing.
• Administer vaccination programs, including Tetanus and Hepatitis.
• Facilitate physician job site visits and Functional Capacity Examinations.
• Ensure timely and accurate charting of all care provided into the team member health record/file.
• Provide resource assistance to HR representatives in assessing reasonable accommodations.
• Conduct job assessments within manufacturing and office environments, provide risk analysis and offer risk reduction solutions.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and recordkeeping within scope of responsibility.
• Maintain Health and Safety Information systems; input health information and treatment plans into appropriate HSI Systems in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Current Nursing license (LPN, RN, or BSN) in the state of Iowa. Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, legal documents, and respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to team members, managers, and public groups.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as medication dosage.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Current nurse licensure in the state where employed. CAOHC certification preferred. CPR certification required.

The position requires some flexibility related to hours of work. May be occasionally asked to work additional hours or different hours to support business needs.

Occasional travel (less than 10%) may be requested based on sites supported and business needs.
