This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of EHS Professionals, you will provide domain expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS manufacturing and prototyping. You will support the team on all aspects of safety and health compliance with local, state, and federal laws at Blue Origin main facilities and satellite locations including, but not limited to: OSHA, state OSHA, PSM, NFPA, and ANSI requirements.
You will also support the team on all aspects of environmental compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including, but not limited to: RCRA, CWA (including NPDES, SPCC, and SWPPP requirements), CAA, NEPA, their state equivalents, and any other environmental authorities.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Environmental Engineer II, you will be responsible for driving environmental compliance efforts and enhancing essential programs across the site.
- Implementing policies and procedures to ensure environmental compliance.
- Developing programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge of compliance policies.
- Working closely with various stakeholders to evaluate compliance, and to ensure that our practices meet the highest standards.
- Supporting a variety of program activities within the EHS organization, including but not limited to Air Program compliance, RCRA Hazardous Waste compliance, Waste water, and NPDES Stormwater compliance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Environmental regulatory monitoring and compliance
- Demonstrated working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations including CAA, CWA (NPDES, SPCC, SWPPP), RCRA, and NEPA.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance policies, procedures, and programs. Experience collecting, managing, and analyzing environmental compliance data and preparing required regulatory reports and submittals. Experience developing and delivering environmental compliance training to diverse audiences. Experience reporting to and interfacing with regulatory agencies
- Ability to interpret, apply, audit, and communicate regulatory requirements - both verbally and in writing - across all organizational levels. Must be self-driven and able to plan and execute work with limited direct supervision from senior management and/or peers
Desired
Skills:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, or 3 years of professional experience
- Advanced knowledge in a field of science, environmental engineering, or related discipline
- Knowledge of and experience with EHS management system elements, such as ISO 14001/45001
- Knowledge of environmental sciences/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies
- Knowledge of national and international environmental laws/regulations and regulatory/resource agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities, industry standards for environmental compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential environmental impacts during project execution
- Experience with air emissions inventory development, permitting, or Title V/synthetic minor permit compliance
- Familiarity with chemical inventory management and Tier II reporting (EPCRA)
- Familiarity with OSHA PSM (29 CFR ) or EPA RMP requirements
- Knowledge of engineering and construction systems, methods, and work processes
- Knowledge of construction planning, estimating, procedures, and execution
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of environmental subcontractors or consultants
- Experience in environmental monitoring and compliance inspection during construction
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and waste management, erosion and sediment control methods, and restoration techniques
- Knowledge of Florida Hazardous Waste, Air, and Stormwater Regulations
