Job SummaryWe're looking for a Tool Room Supervisor to lead our tooling operations team and support the delivery of critical tooling that enables investment casting production across Chromalloy's Parts business. This role provides leadership, direction, and coaching while overseeing tool builds from quotation through release, ensuring tooling is delivered on time, right the first time, and at the lowest total installed cost.

What You'll Be DoingTooling Execution and Scheduling
- Coordinate all tooling activity from solicitation through shipment - quotation, build planning, procurement, machining, fitting, tryout, inspection, and release.
- Develop detailed tooling quotations and build plans; validate estimated hours, materials, and outside services against actuals and close the loop on variance.
- Maintain the master build schedule; assign work by skill and priority; report status, risk, and recovery plans to the Tooling Manager on a defined cadence.
- Manage the outsourced tooling network - RFQs, quote and queue evaluation, purchase orders, and supplier delivery and quality performance.
- Enter and manage requisitions for equipment, tooling, materials, and consumables supporting approved build plans and capital projects.
Technical Ownership and Quality
- Review all new tool construction and rework for conformance to the Chromalloy tooling manual, functionality, producibility, and safety.
- Update CAD models in NX to resolve producibility issues; maintain configuration control and revision discipline.
- Interpret blueprints, GD&T, CAD models, and ATOS scan data to drive die targeting, dimensional correction, and mismatch resolution.
- Partner with the customer plants and process engineering so tools release to the floor immediately on receipt - no fitting loop, no turnback.
- Associate degree, technical/trade school certificate, completed tool and die apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience in tooling design, build, repair, or machining operations.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a tool room, machine shop, or skilled trades environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, CAD models, tooling specifications, and inspection data.
- Working knowledge of CNC machining, EDM, grinding, tool fitting, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems for purchasing, job costing, and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting investment casting tooling, including wax dies, core dies, fixtures, and gauges.
