Position: Underground Boring & Trenching Laborer/Helper (Miami)

This position will consist of individuals performing boring, trenching, excavating, potholing, hand trenching as well as locating utilities. The role requires excellent customer service skills, leading a crew to produce high-quality results within specified time frames. It also acts as a point of contact for construction coordinators, inspectors, and must maintain effective and consistent communication with them. The candidate must ensure crews have proper equipment and that all safety rules and regulations are followed daily.

This position is responsible for required daily project updates, as well as on‑site resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Equipment operation including mini‑excavator, HDD, trenchers, and missiles.
  • Assisting in securing site; employees and safety daily.
  • General maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Interfacing with customers, inspectors and the public frequently.
  • Other foreman related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of work‑related experience in underground utility construction or telecommunications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Class A CDL not required but preferred.
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to understand instructions provided in written, oral, or drawing.
  • Ability to solve problems involving different variables in varied situations.
  • Ability to calculate measurements in distance, proportions, percentages, and area; apply basic mathematics concepts.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, machine operation manuals, and process procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must attend and pass all required company training as needed.
  • May be required to work overtime, after‑hours, weekends, or be on‑call as needed.
  • May include working nights and holidays.
  • May be required to travel in‑state, out‑of‑state or overnight as necessary.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
