Waste Pro is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Safety Lane Inspector to join our team in Pembroke Pines, Florida. We offer competitive pay along with outstanding benefits and opportunities for career advancement. As a Safety Lane Inspector, you will play a critical role in keeping our fleet safe and road-ready. You'll work closely with our drivers and maintenance technicians to ensure Waste Pro vehicles meet company safety standards, DOT regulations, and OSHA requirements before they head out on the road each day.

Job Responsibilities:
* Conduct daily Safety Lane inspections on waste collection vehicles and equipment.
* Assist drivers with completing required pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
* Identify and document safety or mechanical concerns, including lights, mirrors, tires, fluid leaks, body damage, and other visible defects.
* Communicate inspection findings to Maintenance Technicians and drivers to ensure timely repairs.
* Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs), inspection logs, and other required documentation.
* Perform basic computer data entry and maintain accurate inspection records.
* Inspect and maintain proper tire air pressure and identify tire-related safety concerns.
* Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe Safety Lane in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
* Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Occasionally perform route observations to evaluate driver safety, truck appearance, route cleanliness, and customer service.
* Complete route observation reports and provide coaching on safe operating practices and training opportunities.
* Assist with distributing safety supplies such as gloves, safety glasses, door hangers, recycling bins, carts, and related materials.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support fleet operations.

Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Previous experience in fleet maintenance, vehicle inspections, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
* General knowledge of heavy-duty and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG-powered vehicles.
* Working knowledge of vehicle safety inspections and DOT regulations is preferred.
* Ability to identify visible vehicle defects and safety concerns.
* Knowledge of tire inspections, including checking and adjusting tire pressure.
* Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with drivers and maintenance personnel.
* Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime as business needs require.
