Position: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER FOR SUBSTANTIALLY SEPARATE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL PROGRAM (REPOSTED)

Job Description

Pembroke Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a substantially separate social‑emotional classroom at the elementary level. This classroom supports students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs who require a highly structured, therapeutic learning environment. The teacher will implement individualized academic and behavioral programming while collaborating closely with support staff and related service providers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs in a substantially separate setting.
  • Utilize evidence‑based strategies to support students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and social‑emotional learning strategies.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment focused on relationship‑building and positive behavior support.
  • Collaborate regularly with school counselors, psychologists, BCBA, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
  • Collect and maintain data on student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.
  • Evaluate students through formal and informal assessments, write comprehensive special education evaluation reports, and participate in the eligibility determination process.
  • Facilitate and participate in IEP and annual review meetings, contributing to the development of appropriate goals and services.
  • Communicate effectively with families and maintain regular, professional correspondence.
  • Support successful inclusion opportunities when appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education regulations.
Position Details

Position Type: Full‑time

Salary: $67,876 to $111,687 Per Year

Job Requirements
  • Massachusetts Educators License for this assignment
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
