Position: LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE: SCHOOL NURSE

Starting Date: Immediately

Job Description

The mission of Pembroke Public Schools is to ensure student achievement through excellence in teaching and learning. Pembroke Public School Nurses coordinate the health and safety needs of all students to reduce health barriers and promote effective learning.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain students’ individual health records.
  • Monitor compliance with State Immunization regulations.
  • Assessment and treatment of injury and illness with appropriate counseling and referrals.
  • Case management of students with diabetes, asthma and other health concerns through the implementation of Individual Health Care Plans.
  • Administration of daily medications and treatments in accordance with physician’s orders.
  • Conduct required, grade‑appropriate health screenings including hearing, vision, height, weight, BMI, and postural screenings.
  • Coordinate optimal level of wellness through health education and promotion of healthy lifestyle choices.
