The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Pen Argyl, PA site.
Job SummaryAs a Mechanic Technician, you will work under general supervision and be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and mechanical equipment. You will utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery, vehicles, and systems. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Must have all required tools to fulfill the responsibilities and requirements of the job.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including Hazardous Energy Control Procedures (HECP) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate directions and specifications verbally and in writing to team members.
- Demonstrate high quality work, performed with limited repeat repairs and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Demonstrate ability to aid and train other technicians in repairs and WM procedures and policies.
- Use time effectively; prevent irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
- Document Work and Parts Usage:
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks. Record parts usage, labor hours, and diagnostic findings utilizing fleet maintenance software program. - Test and Adjust Systems:
Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper functionality and alignment. Adjust settings, calibrate sensors, and perform fine-tuning as necessary to optimize performance and efficiency. - Diagnose Mechanical Issues:
Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical problems and malfunctions in vehicles, engines, and equipment. Use specialized tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues and determine the most effective repair solutions. - Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Repair and Replace Components:
Conduct repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines to ensure quality repairs and optimal performance. - Maintain Tools and Equipment:
Properly maintain and care for tools, equipment, and shop facilities to ensure they are in good working condition. Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe and efficient work environment. - Provide Support:
