The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue through wedding, corporate, conference, meeting, and group event sales while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service within the Catering and Sales Department. This role ensures that all events are professionally planned, coordinated, and executed to exceed guest expectations and achieve departmental profitability. The manager plays a key role in developing strong client relationships, maximizing revenue opportunities through strategic up‑selling, effective space and inventory management, and leading a high‑performing, service‑oriented team.
Day-to-dayresponsibilities:
- Develop and implement quarterly sales action plans aligned with hotel business strategies to achieve revenue targets, particularly within the wedding and group segments.
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, industry analysis, and territory development.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement, site inspections, and client entertainment.
- Promote and sell function spaces, meeting facilities, convention venues, and wedding packages.
- Manage and convert sales inquiries and leads into confirmed bookings.
- Drive departmental revenue performance while ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Oversee daily conference and convention operations and set performance and development goals for team members.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to support team growth and performance.
- Enhance guest experiences by providing comprehensive information on hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Conduct property tours and client entertainment to strengthen business relationships.
- Support clients with menu planning, food and beverage coordination, table arrangements, and décor selections.
- Coordinate all event logistics, including room setups, audiovisual requirements, staging, and VIP services.
- Lead pre-event and post-event meetings to ensure service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Analyze guest feedback and satisfaction surveys to improve service quality.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution.
- Maintain strong knowledge of competitor activity and market trends to support strategic sales initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma in Hotel Management, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
- At least 3–4 years of managerial-level experience in hotel group and wedding sales, with a minimum of 2 years in luxury hotel sales preferred.
- Proven track record of success in wedding and/or corporate catering sales.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, results-driven team player with strong leadership and collaboration skills.
