The Recreation Attendant ensures that Madison House’s pools, gym, padel courts & changing rooms, and spa facilities (cold plunge, sauna, steam room) are maintained to the highest standards of service and presentation. Attendants are responsible for creating a seamless, welcoming environment for members by preparing facilities for daily use, offering guest support, and maintaining cleanliness and readiness throughout the day.

Day-to-Day responsibilities:
  • Prepare and secure all recreation facilities (pools, gym, sauna/steam rooms, padel & pickleball courts) at the start and end of each shift.
  • Welcome members and guests, provide towels and water, and ensure their comfort across all recreation areas.
  • Set up poolside and terrace furniture (loungers, umbrellas) and reset promptly after use.
  • Collect used towels, empty towel bins, and coordinate with laundry to maintain availability.
  • Monitor inventory of towels, water, and amenities; notify your manager when replenishment is needed.
  • Conduct regular checks on pools, gym, courts, and wellness areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness.
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities team or Recreation Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and emergency procedures; provide first aid if trained.
  • Assist with set-up and logistics for wellness, fitness, or recreation-related events.
  • Collaborate with F&B, Housekeeping, and Wellness teams to deliver an exceptional member experience.
  • Perform other duties pertinent to this job as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Service-minded, approachable, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation standards.
  • Able to lift umbrellas, pool furniture, Pilates beds, and as well as reposition towels and chairs as required.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable team player. Ability to stay calm and think quickly in unexpected situations; elevate issues appropriately.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, wellness, or recreation environment preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and/or Lifeguard certification.
  • Strong communication skills.
