Locum General Surgeon Opportunity Pendleton, Oregon
Seeking Board-Certified General Surgeons to provide locum coverage due to a retirement vacancy. Coverage will include clinic, surgical, and call responsibilities in an acute care hospital and outpatient clinic setting. The facility is looking for consistent coverage by two to three surgeons for block scheduling lasting up to one year.
Position Details:
Provide clinic coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Provide 24-hour call coverage while on assignment, including trauma response and emergency surgery
Perform scheduled surgical procedures and provide postoperative care and consultations
Participate in both inpatient and outpatient care responsibilities
Typical weekly schedule includes clinic visits, operating room time, and continuous call coverage
Average clinic volume of approximately patients per day
Approximately 10 surgeries per week, with the majority performed in an outpatient setting
Average inpatient admissions of approximately two per week
Required Procedures:
Colonoscopies (diagnostic and screening)
Cholecystectomy
Hernia repair with mesh
EGD procedures
Appendectomy
Breast excisions
Abdominal wall repairs
Skin excisions
Hemorrhoidectomy
Practice Environment:
Setting includes acute care hospital and outpatient clinic
EMR systems:
Meditech (hospital) and eClinical
Works (clinic)Full hospital support staff with clinic-based medical assistants and nursing support
Providers must be comfortable working in both clinic and hospital settings and functioning as part of the full-time surgical team
Requirements:
Board Certified in General Surgery
Active Oregon medical license (or currently in process for upcoming coverage)
Completion of accredited residency or fellowship training
Active ACLS, BLS, and DEA certifications
Clean malpractice history preferred
Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation
