OverviewHospital-based pediatric locum opportunity in Pendleton, OR, providing 24/7 call coverage with a strong focus on newborn and pediatric inpatient care. Provider must be confident practicing independently with no on-site backup.
Practice HighlightsSchedule: 24-hour call coverage, expected 1–4 hours onsite daily
Coverage for newborn care from OB, ED admissions, or med-surg consults
No NICU – provider stabilizes and transfers if needed
Admissions: ~1 per month through ED
Patients per day: 0–6 (varies)
Must round daily and serve as primary care provider for newborns/pediatric patients
Solo coverage – no backup available
Board Certified in Pediatrics OR IM/FM with significant Peds & Neonatal experience – REQUIRED
3-year Pediatric Residency – REQUIRED
PALS & NRP – REQUIRED
OR License – REQUIRED
Must demonstrate inpatient care to at least 24 pediatric patients as attending in the past 24 months
Clean malpractice/background – strongly preferred
Local candidates (no flights) – highly preferred
Dates of Coverage:
12/5 (7a) – 12/7 (7a)
12/18 (7a) – 12/21 (7a)
12/31 (7a) – 1/5 (7a)
Average Callback: ~1 hour
Rounding required daily, 1–4 hours (varies)

Standard hospital system
Provider MUST be comfortable with neonatal resuscitation, intubation, line placement, and emergency medications to stabilize and transfer when needed.
