Job DescriptionThe Pendleton School District has openings for Special Education Teachers for the 26-27 school year. Candidates must have a valid teaching license with an endorsement in Elementary and Special Education Generalist to meet TSPC requirements. The role involves developing comprehensive educational programs for students with moderate to significant needs, providing proper case management with IEPs, collaborating with instructional assistants, specialists, and general education teachers, and implementing inclusive practices.
Salary Range: Placement on the salary schedule plus Special Education stipend
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision (District contribution $1,960), $50,000 Life and Accidental Death Insurance
Qualifications- Valid Oregon teaching license with Elementary and Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with students with diverse learning challenges
- Experience with Inclusive Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support and Response to Intervention framework preferred
- Strong knowledge of content standards, assessment methods, and instructional goal setting
- Proficiency with technology and classroom management strategies that promote equity and student engagement
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare lessons that align with state standards and support student learning needs.
- Create inclusive classroom environments that foster respect, positive interactions, and equitable access to resources.
- Implement IEPs, coordinate with specialists and instruction assistants, and collaborate with general education teachers.
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction and measure student progress.
- Maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors, and participate in professional development.
- Support building and district instructional initiatives and contribute to student growth and achievement.
Salary and work year as determined by administration and in accordance with board policy and collective bargaining agreement.
