Wildland Firefighter - Crew

This is a Direct‑Hire advertisement. Veterans’ Preference is not applicable. This Wildland Firefighter position is with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service (GW‑0456‑3) and will be based in Pendleton, OR.

• Acts as an entry‑level wildland firefighter on engine, fuels, or wildland fire module (WFM) crews.

Performs assignments such as developing a working knowledge of fire suppression and fuels‑management techniques, practices, and terminology, and may assist in specialized assignments such as backfire, burnout, mobile, and stationary engine attack.

Applicants must provide proof of education that meets the required credit hours. Transcripts (official or unofficial) must include grades, credit hours, major(s), GPA or class ranking, institution name, and student name. If required coursework is not clearly identified on a transcript, a memorandum from the registrar or dean may be used. Graduate education, foreign education, and CTAP/ICTAP documentation are also required as described.

• Suitability for federal employment as determined by a background investigation.

• Valid state driver’s license if driving is required.
