Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ARRT Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The CT Technologist operates CT scanners to produce cross‑sectional images for diagnostic purposes. The role includes preparing and positioning patients, setting technical parameters, collaborating with radiologists, maintaining equipment, documenting procedures, and following safety protocols.
Essential Work Functions- Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately
- Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
- Provide high‑quality images to radiologist for interpretation
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to protect patients and staff
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure and work under close supervision occasionally
